Tonight sees the final of Strictly Come Dancing series 7, and it's a head to head for Ricky and Chris.
Right now I am actually not too fussed who wins. We have a very similar situation to that we had when it was Colin Jackson and Darren Gough. Though Colin was the better dancer overall Darren was a deserved winner for the attitude shift he was responsible for in men towards partner dancing.
Here we have a similar thing, Ricky is, without question, the better dancer of the two - but Chris has had more of a journey and is helping people to realise that maybe they could dance too with a little bit of work. Ricky (on the face of it) appears to have had it easier in the public mind as he has natural talent - though I bet he's had to work just as hard as Chris as we have expected more from him as a result.
Tonight's show will contain several elements, including a Lindy Hop - something not seen before on Strictly as a judged dance and a Show dance. I shall be typing it up LIVE without the benefit of the pause button or spell check! So if you are watching with your laptop to hand you can hit refresh throughout the show to get my updates and thoughts.
See you later tonight! |

I know you are all waiting for the photographs - I'm processing them, but with everything else it's taking time. In the meantime if you have any photo's you'd like to share from last Friday's event please do forward them on to us!
Kate, of the South London Jazz Orchestra emailed me this morning to let me know that your generosity at the event raised an extra £111.26p for their charities. You guys never cease to amaze me.
See some of you here Saturday night for the Strictly final, which I will be typing up 'live' - to all the rest of you have a peaceful Christmas and all the best for a DANCING 2010! |

Week 13, and the end is in sight. This week is the Semi Final and with just three couples and two dances the competition should be fierce. One dance is the Argentine Tango, the other is a reworked version of the celebrities favourite dance so far in the series (by that we mean probably the one they got the highest score in from the judges)
Sorry for the delay in getting this to you – doing a lantern festival in Milton Keynes last night meant I was away from Strictly and a computer. There has been a media blackout in my vicinity today though and I am coming into the show ‘cold’ so my initial responses haven’t been ‘sullied’ by an preconceptions.

Just a quick thank you to everyone who came last night and made the event so special. I am sorry I didn't get to speak to so many of you!
Your kindness in the collection for the charities of the South London Jazz Orchestra resulted in the treasurer of the band being visibly moved by your generosity - she has promised to let me know just how much you raised last night.
The band as always were fabulous, and to see so many of you up and dancing made me very proud.
Clearing up last night we discovered that people were so excited they left a couple of things behind. I have acquired a cardigan and a pair of shoes. Contact me if you think they might be yours - you will have to describe them ;-)
I will see some of you on Monday / Tuesday at the last lessons before Christmas, and of course 'talk' to many more of you via this website for the semi and grand finals of Strictly. In the meantime all of us at DTNA Towers wish you a peaceful Christmas. |
