John Sergeant 'hits' back! Print E-mail
Well having said that you should leave the party "before the fighting starts" John Sergeant (along with Adrian Chiles, Christine Bleakley of the One Show') is releasing a Christmas Single.

Let's Not Fight This Christmas  has been written by Chris Difford (of Squeeze fame) and will be released on December 8.  It is going up against the Bookie favourites from the X-Factor winners, whose soppy take on Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah

Not being able to dance didn't stand in the way of Strictly success, so the fact that John can't sing should do him well.  Looking into the UK Christmas No 1 archives, that seems to be a distinct advantage!  Bob the Builder - 2000, Mr Blobby - 1993 to name but two.  However X Factor winners have claimed the number 1  slot for three years now.

Obviously it's not all about Sergeant, and with Christine leaving this week with her huge fan base, it is possible that this single could well get to number one.  Particulary if they pledge at least some of the funds to charity!

The Birthday Bash is Nearly Here! Print E-mail

The forecast for Friday is cold - it will feel like -2 degrees!  But it's ok, We'll be keeping things HOT HOT HOT in Beckenham with the South London Jazz Orchestra.

There is only a few days left to get your tickets.  The discount 'pay in advance' button will only be available till 12.30pm on Friday 5th December.  After that you are more than welcome to come along, but it will cost you more!

Last year we had a fantastic party where over 80 of our members and friends came along.  This year, with your help, I want to make this even bigger and better! We have over 300 members so it should be easy!

There is nothing at all like dancing to a live band, and don't worry if you don't know how to dance, we have a lesson in Swing Jive before hand from 8pm till 8.30pm from complete beginner level.

Along with our own unique marketplace, free raffle, bar and surprises this will be a great night to remember.  Looking forward to seeing you there!

Strictly 6, Episode 11, results Print E-mail

We've got to the results show, the two weakest dancers I still think are Christine (and despite a big improvement this week) and Lisa.  However who will get the public vote and be in the dance really is up in the air this week -  I think it will be a 'shock eviction' with possibly two from the middle of the board!

Vintage Sale Print E-mail

Well here is your sneak preview of our Silent Auction on Friday night - your chance to pick up a bargin from my own personal wardrobe.

All of these items are in wearable condition, in fact I want you to wear them!  The 'how does it fit me?' field is to give you some comparison as to how it fits a real body (mine - not yours!)  The outfits have been modelled on Sally,  my dress making doll and she is set to my measurements so you get some idea of size - some of the things will just hang off her!  We are not professional photograhers, so these photo's are just guidelines to give you an idea of what to expect.

Strictly 6, Episode 11 Print E-mail

We are well within sight of the finishing post now - and this series has been a bit of a marathon event hasn't it!  Watching the opening credits I've just had the thought that Don Warrington was this series!

Tess wore bright red in a waisted halterneck style and (unsurprisingly) a draped skirt.  Draping is very this season you know!  Tonight all the couples will be dancing two dances - oh the excitement!
